Excel Okayama

A good hotel for its service and room. The room is a bit too small but acceptable. Near to convenience store and not to mention the Chinese restaurant which can be accessed by simply go to the basement floor. The price is very reasonable and nice! Overall, it is a very convenient place. But the distance to Okayama station is a bit far though. Other than that, I really recommend this hotel for business purposes.

Nice hospitality and location to visit cultural monuments. Good hearty breakfast. Cost effective. Some walk or tram needed from the central station. The room key was old fashioned using actual key, but room equipment has updated.

Good hotel about a 20 minute walk from Okayama station. Our AC ran quite loud so was a bit tricky being here in the summer heat alongside the fridge not being especially cold. The staff are friendly and try to be helpful alongside the attached restaurant Alo Alo being surprisingly good and affordable as hotel guests get 10% off. Also has a coin laundry so a good place to base yourself in the area at a good price. If you get the right room you'll have a great view of Okayama castle so that's cool too.

We accidentally booked the smoking room (we don't smoke) the room and whole floor stunk of smoke. In terms of the room its quite old but not too small. Enough space to move around and open 2 suitcases. Bathroom size was reasonable aswell. Location is about a 5 minute tram ride from Okayama station which will cost you 120 yen. Walking it's about 15-20 minute walk along the main street. There are quite a few restaurants within a 5 minute walking distance. Okayama castle is also only a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

Good location, a solid breakfast and nice staff. The coffee's awful, but you don't go to Japan for the coffee. Had trouble with the aircon being that my Japanese isn't up to much, but that's hardly their fault. It's a good hotel for a fair price. Not fancy, but it's extremely well situated. I was lucky enough to have a view of the castle
