Erlind's - OHSWEKEN
Erlind's
Description
Hidden in a local strip, this budget-friendly eatery wins fans with tasty, affordable plates and rotating daily specials. Generous takeout (condiments included), ample free parking and wheelchair access make it family- and budget-friendly. Service can be friendly and attentive, but limited staffing sometimes slows rush-hour service, and experiences vary—some diners praise the food while a few reported poorly cooked items and brusque staff. Overall, a casual, value-focused spot worth trying with patience during peak times.

We went to this restaurant for the very first time and my wife and I were appalled by the lack of friendliness of the lady that was working. She did not smile or even acknowledge us the first time that she walked by us and we thought ok maybe she is busy. But with only 5 tables in the restaurant at the time we let it go. When she walked by us the second time and did not say a word to us or smiled that was enough for us to walk out of the restaurant and we will never step foot in this place again. I don't know how this restaurant stays in business if she treats people like this. Yes everyone has a bad day but this is unacceptable practice. I only gave 1 star but in my mind it doesn't even deserve a star.
I ordered a burger and fries for takeout, and they had a pretty standard taste—no complaints there. What really impressed me was that they included ketchup, vinegar, salt, pepper, a fork, and a napkin without me even having to ask. It's refreshing not having to request the basics, unlike those big chain restaurants where I've left the drive-thru at McDonald's without napkins or ketchup. Who eats French fries without ketchup when it's available? No one! So thank you, Erlind, for keeping it real.
The food was terrible—burnt bacon, overcooked eggs, and peameal bacon that was tough like shoe leather. The bread was stale, and they definitely need a better cook. I would rate the food a mere 1 out of 10; it was that bad. I won’t be returning, but we only chose to go there because other restaurants were closed. I just don’t understand why so many people rave about the food when it was so awful.
The food is fantastic, offering a wonderful selection of both Chinese and Canadian dishes.
