We stopped at The Pink Pig about 7:30 on a Saturday night. We were cheerfully greeted and seated very quickly. We waited a few minutes to be waited on, and our server was friendly and efficient. The Pink Pig is always very busy and has a great reputationfor good BBQ. When our food arrived my onion rings were cold. After informing our server, a basket of piping hot onion ringsarrived at our table in no time. We were somewhat surprised that our server didn 't stop by again to inquire if everthing was ok.But as I kept watching, I could see how busy he was. When he brought our check (and boxes for our excess food) I asked if therewere just two people working and he responded yes . I realized what a tremendous feat it was for only two servers to be workingin a bustling place like The Pink Pig on a Saturday night. We left a generous tip and want to encourage people to patronize thisgreat place. Servers deserve grace and the benefit of the doubt, especially in this (almost) post-Covid era. Oh, and as we left,a smiling cook looked out his window in the kitchen and thanked us for coming in. Thank YOU, Pink Pig loyal employees, forworking your butts off on a busy Saturday night. You rock!
I asked Google for a nearby BBQ place and Pink Pig popped up. I am glad I asked when I did, because this place was awesome. I had pulled pork and brisket, and it was some of the best I have had. The beans were delicious too. Friendly staff is always aplus. Add in $4 pint and one of the best meals on my recent road-trip. Definitely plan on visiting again.
Brisket was delicious, fork tender, lightly seasoned, lightly smoked, plenty juicy. The bbq sauce had a medium to light pour, a little tang, well rounded flavor/spice. Vinegar slaw was light refreshing w a cabbage mix. Roasted corn was amazing wonions and green chilis. Mac cheese was aldente elbow noodles with plenty of creamy cheese sauce. Great Cornbread served fluffybut firm, 2 good sized classic squares w salted butter packs. Check out the desert menu! Bread pudding can?t be beat, it was amile high square served w c vanilla ice cream yum ????Follow Tobes Brisket Challenge for more national barbecue reviews?????
