Grand Arctic - Oeverkalix

My family and I took a trip to northern Sweden to look for houses near Överkalix. Initially, we arrived at a closed accommodation but the owner allowed us to stay and provided us with a key to a cabin. However, there was no running water and it was too cold, so we decided it was not suitable for our children. We then contacted the Grand Arctic Hotel and the manager warmly welcomed us. We spent a night in one of their beautiful rooms and when we asked about our check-out time the next morning, they told us to come back whenever we wanted. We visited a house and upon our return, we decided to extend our stay at the hotel for another 6 days. However, with children, we preferred to stay in a house. The manager kindly offered us a house to stay in and it was perfect. The staff at the hotel treated us like friends every time we visited, making us feel very welcome and at home. We can confidently say that Grand Arctic Hotel is a hospitable place where you are made to feel like a friend.

The restaurant excels in hosting winter activities and has efficient connections to local attractions and facilities. A standout feature is that they provide necessary winter clothing for guests. The breakfast and lunch menus are simple yet delicious, with good vegetarian options available. Dinner consists of a pre-ordered two-course meal that is very tasty. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are decent and simplistic.

The restaurant was able to impress with its ambiance, food quality, service, and overall experience. The establishment is relatively new, having opened just last year, and they have clearly put in a lot of effort. I particularly enjoyed the welcoming and friendly family atmosphere, which made our stay truly memorable and special. We are looking forward to returning in the future!

Great short holiday for artic adventure with children from 8yo!

Simply amazing the location, activities, accomodation, service and eating. the hotel has been new property since last year and they have done an incredible work. especially I loved the family atmosphere that was so warm and welcoming. Many thanks to the fact that they make our stay a truly unforgettable and special experience. we can't wait to come back!
