Basting Gimbel - Die Wirtschaft

Inscribed on Friday night early and met with a warm welcome. It started raining, but we both wanted to eat on the terrace. Wait staff collected pillows and helped us move table under a cover so we could enjoy the beautiful evening. Many, many wine selections and a few beers. I had a wonderful vegetarian pasta dish with a small salad. Both were delicious; best salad since arrival in February to Germany. Husband with traditional German tariff. Great portions. Had Dessert liked, but it was too crowded. Service excellent in the evening.

A very cozy place, both family and dog friendly. We had no reservations, but they managed to press us. Very good wines on the glass and I had the best drawn pork burger ever! My wife had a risotto that was also prepared for perfection. With a great children's menu and friendly staff we have left the place completely satisfied!

We haven't visited this restaurant for a few years, but when we decided to review the new owner and boss, we were really happy. The food was excellent, the wines great, the service Swift and friendly. The cook has a very creative hand and constantly offers something new on the menu, driven by seasonal ideas. The restaurant itself is historically and aesthetically interesting.

We happened upon this restaurant though a friend who lives in nearby Wiesbaden. The restaurant he had chosen was booked with a wedding, so we ended up here. I 'm not sure what Basting Gimbel is about the name on the restaurant is Die Wirtschaft . It was Kurbis (pumpkin) season, and the chef prepared the most delicious Pumpkin Ricotta Cannelloni and a most generous portion for lunch. The interior of the restaurant is so cozy and relaxing we 'd love to go back for a dinner!
