Description

The Waterwitch serves as a charming gathering spot, particularly enjoyed for its inviting atmosphere and friendly staff. While many patrons rave about the quality of the food—especially the Sunday roast and festive meals—some express disappointment over service delays and food temperatures. The establishment prides itself on being dog-friendly, although certain restrictions have frustrated guests hoping to dine outdoors. With a picturesque location along the canal, it offers a delightful experience for families and friends alike. If you're in the area, this venue remains a lovely choice despite occasional service hiccups and food critiques.

Ordered celeriac soup got given veg soup. Found it inedible (suspected it was from a can? . The terrine was nice. Service was slow 3/4 hour to take our order but then it came out quickly we were told this in advance to be fair but we couldn’t understand as it wasn’t that busy. Our Waitress was surly we felt like they didn’t want us there and we were inconveniencing them sorry for coming! Would not go back or recommend. We wanted simple tasty food and a cheery staff which we found at newlyns farm shop cafe which was round the corner! Price per person: £10–20 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

This place has food poisoned my husband. He was ill all night after last Sunday visit for Sunday roast. The food was absolutely shocking awful. Whoever cooked that, plated that, and sent it out completely lost their marbles. I didn't think places like this could still exist. Wow. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 1

The worst Sunday roast I have ever seen. Bought in cubed vegetable steamed to death, bought in peeled potatoes, steamed to death and not roasted. Meat was terrible. I have seen better plating in care homes. Dessert was salted caramel sundae and it had nothing to do with salted caramel, it was just chocolate ice cream with bought in whipped cream. If I wanted chocolate ice cream I would order one. I did not want to complain about this in the building, I did not want to ruin our family lunch and I did not want to intimidate very young staff working hard. It was embarrassing. Then later I discovered its greeneking and it suddenly made all sense. Don't bother about sending me your email to talk to you, I won't. This place is a closed chapter for me and other people who came with us. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 1 Service: 4 Reservation: Not sure Special offers: Not sure Seating type: Indoor dining area

I 've been going to the waterwitch since I was a child whenever I visit Odiham. I grew up there and up until a few years ago visited relatives there so have enjoyed many special occasions there. Today it was my birthday so I went with my partner, 2 adult children a 9 year old and I took the dog as I have before. It was a warm sunny day and I was pleased to see it wasnt too busy there mid afternoon. Unfortunately we were unable to eat, we were told we cannot eat outside until the end of March and the dog friendly tables inside were taken. We stayed for a drink but were very disappointed as we had checked online beforehand and it said it was dog friendly. We asked if we could collect food from the bar and bring it outside ourselves having travelled from Andover but were told no if we let you then we 'd have to let everyone It was an enjoyable experience as there was a friendly atmosphere and it was lovely outside just a shame we had to go hungry.
