The young man who served us was very good and kind. The young woman was too. But when it came time to pay, the older man (perhaps the owner) made a negative comment about us because we didn't know the table number we needed to pay for. I've worked in a lot of restaurants/bars, and this ruined my evening, so I won't come here again, and I won't give money to this rude person again.

I understand the desire to be polite, but such language can be seen as disrespectful. It would be better to maintain a more neutral and professional tone with customers.
