I recently stopped by for lunch and was taken back to my visits to Rieve's original location in the 1960s. I was impressed by the quality of the food and the excellent service. While I've tried various items on the menu, I particularly enjoyed the fish fillet, Reuben sandwich, grilled chicken, steak sub, and the Meggwich sandwich; all of them were very good. The roasted onion rings are some of the best I've ever had. After just a few visits over a few weeks, the staff even started greeting me by name. Even after 60 years, it's still a lovely spot in Odenton.

However, I was concerned when I saw a staff member cleaning the counter with a cloth and then using the same cloth to wipe a cutting board. Then, the man handed her two eggs meant for my salad. She proceeded to peel the eggs while still wearing the same gloves that had touched the counter and cutting board. Even when she washed the eggs, she was still using those contaminated gloves, which defeated the purpose of cleaning them in the first place. After handing the eggs to the man for my salad, she returned to cleaning with the same gloves on. Given this experience, I don’t think I’ll be returning to this restaurant.

As my salad was being prepared, a lady was using a rag to wash the counter and used the same rag to clean a cuttin... read more I came here on my lunch break to get a salad. As my salad was being prepared, a lady was using a rag to wash the counter and used the same rag to clean a cutting board. The guy handed her 2 eggs, the eggs that was to go in my salad, she proceeded topeel the eggs with the gloves on that she used to clean the counter and cutting board with. She washed the eggs off with thegloves on which defeated the purpose because they were still in her hands with the dames gloves after they were washed off. Notthat washing them off was going to make a difference. After handing the eggs to the man for my salad, she went back to the ragand continues to clean with the same gloves. I won?t be visiting again
