Umashi - Odense

Staff good. Nice atmosphere, convenient location. Food, meh. Went in before the dinner rush and ordered nigiri. The rice was cold and hard, as if it had just come out of a refrigerator. The gyoza came with sweet sour sauce instead of gyoza sauce, which I found odd, but I 'm not very familiar with what Dane-ified Japanese food generally entails. The serving plates are large, heavy stone slabs. They took up almost all the space on my table leaving little room for cutlery or drinks. They were so heavy that my server had trouble carrying them and setting them down. Once on my table, I could barely move/adjust them. Whoever chose these plates has never worked in a restaurant or had to run food. They are an absurd choice and where they are supposed to add to the ambience and decor, they only create awkwardness and give you a sense that management is trying to compensate for something with this gawky gimmick. Please get normal plates appropriate to the scale of your tables. It would add to the professionalism of the restaurant and save your employees ' wrists!

Travelling with a vegan outside Copenhagen, we took refuge here, notwithstanding the inflated prices. And we each got food poisoning do not recommend.

Umashi is all right. I have eaten there a lot, but it isn't my first choice in Odense. I eat there because of the discount for students and lunch offer, but i dont feel like they have the best quality of fish, and the rice is a bit to muchy. But their starters are the best in Odense, the staff is always acting like they dont have time for the costumer. To busy for me, not a place i want to sit for hours and eat, but all right

Very cute young girl who served us and she is the biggest plus at the visit. The Sushi did not taste freshly prepared and the tempura was not warm and the rice refrigerator cold. It was my first visit to the restaurant and I had greater expectations. These were not met and will not come again.
