I picked this place for us to try out for my husband‘s birthday last night. I've seen so many great things online and it really didn't disappoint. I made a reservation for inside but when we got there, it felt a bit warm so we opted to sit outside on the patio. This was the most delicious dinner I've had in a long time View all feedback.

The place is okay and the ambiance is nice and calm. Most of the food was good but for the price is kind of a bit overated. Servers are very nice but not very attentive as you have to call them everytime to remove your dirty plate. Overall it was okay for me. View all feedback.
Fabulous! Best meal we've had in a long time. Caesar calamari salad delicious and unique. Filet one of the best even and a generous portion. I had the short rib tamale. Delicious. As good as in Oaxaca. Martinis great. Jillian took care of us. She made it a special treat.
Such a gem in Escondido! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is always great. They have great cocktails as well! We tried the Chef's Mercy menu and it was amazing, I would definitely recommend giving it a try!
The bartender shaking ice at the bar frequently was mildly disruptive. But, the quality of the food, the rest of the ambiance, and the food (worth mentioning twice) were so delicious it was absolutely a great experience.

Hunsaker's IS a destination. Whenever we have guests visiting from out of town we dine there, if it's a special occasion, we dine there—ACTUALLY, we often dine there “just because “. It's a great value and a fabulous experience every single time. It's a hidden jewel in quaint downtown Escondido. It matters not if you live in Carlsbad, Oceanside, Encinitas or downtown San Diego, if you are looking for an extraordinary dining experience, make the trek to downtown Escondido, IT IS SOOO WORTH IT. Perfect for date night, or entertaining friends. Hunsaker's understands the value of good food, REAL food, and excellent service! BRAVO! We will be back again and again.
