The food and atmosphere are great but the service was so outstanding. The food is delicious and it's a cute cafe atmosphere. The service is what every restaurant should model.Kid-friendliness: My toddler was messy and needy but the staff kept her entertained and her area was cleaned. View all feedback.
What Bobby Rojas doesn't like about The Breakfast Mug:
The pancakes were basic, a choco pancake is just a regular pancake but they put chocolate chips on it, after its cooked. The french toast was really good. Their coffee drinks are interesting served chilled in a mason jar, they were good. The pricing was too much for the service and food. I think they need to work on it a bit to charge those prices. It wasnt a bad place, it wasnt the greates especially in oceanside View all feedback.
If it's busy, you know it's good ?? This place seems to be constantly busy when I'm there. The food if very good and average to a little higher than average on the price. This is a nice place to go by yourself or with the family. They have a great selection of things to order. Thumbs up ??
Service was stellar. Upbeat, welcoming, quick, and attentive. The food was awful. The gravy has ground beef instead of sausage. Runny, greasy, gross mess. Huge miss. Something about the French toast tasted almost soapy? Both plates had the same weird aftertaste. Our eggs were just off all together. Not even hot sauce could save them. The iced coffee was good. A little sweet, but a nice surprise. The atmosphere is chill. Cute space, lots of parking.
We were looking for a new breakfast place to try and this was close to my mom's home. The food was flavorful and very appealing to the eye. We used take out. My only wish is that the house potatoes and potatoes in the breakfast burrito were softer. We cooked them a little jobber and they were perfect. I will definitely visit again, because the flavor was on point!
Main dishes are average tasting with not very large portions, not really worth the price at least for the duck dishes. Ordered duck benedict and the country breakfast, both had very small duck portions. Sausage gravy was kind of thin, hashbrown portion was a small square. A la carte sides are very generous and the service is great though.
I think it is a bit over priced but the food was excellent.
