We went for Taco Tuesday. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was outstanding, view of the city lights amazing. One friendly bartender to service the entire deck and you have to order food and drinks at the bar, which was not a problem for us. I would definitely recommend! View all feedback.
What Nola Bergeron doesn't like about Cococabana:
It was fairly crowded and quite loud at 4:30pm on a Saturday. There only seemed to be one server for a large portion of the patio, so service was quite slow. We didn’t try the food, but drinks were good. View all feedback.
We go for the view of the Thursday Sunset Street Fair. The rooftop offers the perfect perch to enjoy free live music, people watching, the sunset, and the Pier lights at sundown. The cocktails are beautifully presented, flavorful, and hella strong. The menu is not veg friendly and they are always out of the cauliflower. The food prices seem high a $6 oyster should be delicious but I was disappointed in size (small) and prep (tough). Go for the drinks! Eat at the Fair!
Food was undercook and portions resemble that of tapas size. The prawns were more like just prawns as the rest of the body was missing. It was a sizable head but no tails. The ribeye steak was not of very good quality. For the price of the food this place really needs to work on it. Ambiance has potential and so does the service. We got there and employees were still decorating and getting ready for the night, only 1 portable heater for a space that needs to accommodate over 100 people. It’s disappointing to see such a potential for what can be the best and maybe only rooftop restaurant in Oceanside. I’ve seen better, had better at other rooftops in NYC, LA, Milan, London and sure it’s Oceanside but there is no need to serve mediocracy.
This is definitely a go to place for coolness, and the veal. Drinks are mediocre and the food is rather bland. In my opinion but it's definitely a good starting off point for a night in Oceanside. Mexican longer isn't bad and as I said, the view is amazing.
It is FREEZING up there and they only have 1 standing heater for the entire place. Food options are minimal, literally 1 small page. Service was great… the girls are super sweet and accommodating. We had some Champagne but then left to eat dinner at Toasted where it was warm and delicious food. They desperately need more heaters because winter has just begun in SoCal… it’s going to get way colder!
High priced drinks for a small cup with a lot of ice. It was a cup the size of a coffee cup, for $12. The beer was served in a cocktail glass. Waitress was very quick to bring drinks out and check on us often. The reservation was for only 1:45 min then we had to leave.
