In the past, as a child with my family, I came to special occasions and as a young adult to my first date with my hub (then friend). Recently I came with Mom for lunch after many, many years, and it was still the same (in a good way). The atmosphere is dark and atmospheric and slightly sophisticated (maybe). For me, the decor is classic and brings nostalgia. Your food is consistently good, well cooked and tasteful. I... View all feedback.
What Vincenzo Ziemann doesn't like about Chin's Szechwan Oceanside:
I've been coming to Chin for years. Great food! My only problem is that every time I go to order, prices have risen again...Free rice for $ 17.00?? Prices have gone crazy. I think I have to find a new favorite for this reason. View all feedback.
I've been visiting Chin for years and really love the food! However, my only issue is that every time I try to place an order, the prices have increased again. Free rice for $17.00?? The prices have gotten out of hand. For this reason, I might have to search for a new favorite restaurant.
Delicious Chinese food, good Sichuan spices. This is tasteful food, but Chinese seeking authentic food can find it Americanized. You explain the menu very well and show tips to enjoy the lunch menu. I always come back here. Service was excellent. Friendly staff, good prices. The food came fast. We ate everything on the plate. Get the spicy beef.
I have fond memories of this restaurant from my childhood, visiting for special occasions with my family, and later, I had my first date there with my husband (who was just a friend back then). Recently, I returned with my mom for lunch after many years, and it was just as I remembered it—in a good way. The ambiance is dark, cozy, and has a touch of sophistication. The decor is classic and evokes a sense of nostalgia for me. The food is consistently good, well-prepared, and flavorful. I ordered the shrimp dish and the eggplant dish (my favorite vegetable), and once again, I was not disappointed. I would recommend this place any day.
What a find! With so many options for Chinese food out there it was wonderful to find a place with great food, excellent service and a good atmosphere. Portions were plentiful and quite expensive. The menu had found something for everyone, from the traditional, to the not often. We started with handmade pot stickers and moved on to Tangerine chicken, Schezwan beef and pork bread. The flavors were amazing. Even my picky 8-year-old was impressed. Then we tried the pepper meat and the house special Pao Hu pig (picture). The beef, served on a dazzling hot plate, was tender and tasty. The Pao Hu pig we were told was not found elsewhere, this wonderful mix of crispy, but soft pork and peanuts. My wife doesn't like peanuts, but couldn't get enough of this dish. The staff was attentive and friendly. I can't wait to be back in the area and try more dishes (fortunately we have leftovers). I highly recommend it.
This place was HIGHLY recommended by a neighbor of a friend, and WOW WOW WOW super glad we made the time to explore this venue because everything was really delicious here! We ordered: eggplant in Szechuan sauce, honey walnut shrimp, fried rice, chicken corn soup, Mongolian beef, and General Tso's chicken. Every dish was really spectacular and we just really enjoyed the quality of the food, the ambiance, and the super personable waiter who served us. This is a MUST STOP for Oceanside eats!
