Tavern On The Square Restaurant Bar

The food is incredibly good. Really unique for this area; almost something you would see in Silicon Valley or Seattle. Very unique dishes. The cook, Lance, came to our table and had a chat with us about the ducks, so we were satisfied. We were also very pleased to hear that the cook had world-class training and had won many awards and awards. Our server, Desiree, was absolutely fantastic. Great with drinking recommendations and very attentive; a edgy look but a fantastic personality. Tavern is definitely a must see in the Ocala restaurant and nightlife world.

Casual sophistication meets Fine Dining! Excellent meals and drinks are served in a relaxed atmosphere in the restored historic building. The staff is incredible! There are theme nights like Wine Down Wednesday . Live music is provided several nights a week. If you go on a Saturday night, make sure you wear your dancing shoes. Even if Louis is in service, ask him to make a Dirty Martini for you!

We had a great time in Tavern on the place for lunch today! Chef Tony was wonderful to describe the dishes and specialties. We met a great person, Sharon, who offers her know-how in the restaurant and it and basically what this place offers. Both were available through our lunch. The food was made wonderful with loving hands. We plan two more visits within the month.

First day open again, they had problems in the kitchen. When the food came, it was pretty good, and the manager took care of Dessert, for the mix up. Give them a few more days and I'm confident they're five stars.

Our friends BRAGGED about this place...they had been 2x already we decided to go one evening. Asked for the trio, I dont recall what their menu says but queso, quac salsa, ended up with only queso til we were able to ask for the rest. Was not easy to get drinks either. Food was good though. Unfortunately our friends went later the following week and never got served....or acknowledged.
