I absolutely love the curry chicken with rice and peas here. The plantains on the side are fantastic as well. It's really delicious! I haven't had authentic Jamaican food since moving away from South Florida, and this place is a true gem. The prices are reasonable too.
This place offers the best jerk chicken in town, and I absolutely love their potato pudding! The staff are incredibly friendly and wonderful. It's definitely worth a visit—highly recommend it! 10 out of 10!
I always have a wonderful experience with the food whenever I visit. Desrine is incredibly friendly and makes me feel like I’m her only customer, or a family member she hasn't seen in a while. I appreciate that they offer little items for purchase in addition to cooked meals, such as my favorite ginger tea, spice buns, and pepper sauce. The prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are generous enough to share.
I suspect I was served old food. I spent over $80 on oxtail and curry goat and drove 45 minutes to get this, lured by the hype on Google. Upon entering, I immediately noticed the place seemed a bit dirty, but I ignored the warning signs. The only scent I could detect was the goat, but once I got home, I was hit by a sour smell—extremely sour. The meats themselves were fine, but when I took a whiff of the rice, it was unbearable! (To clarify, I have Jamaican parents, so I’ve been eating island food my whole life.) If you're American, you might find the flavors interesting, but for me, it was just unpleasant. It seemed like they used coconut milk for the rice, but it must have been left out too long because it smelled off. I even asked my husband for a second opinion, and when he tasted it, he instantly felt sick. I won't be coming back here! They seriously need a health inspection!
