This bakery is located in the arcade of shops in a luxurious hotel at the World Equestrian Center, and is as fancy as one would expect it to be in such a location. The displays of baked items is extensive, attractively arranged, tempting, and a tad pricey.We tried the apple fritters and several other pastry items, all of which were quite good. There were several employees behind the counter, all but one of whom were impeccably groomed.I do not expect the men and women who wait on me in public to be young and attractive, but I do expect them to be clean-cut and properly groomed. That means no facial piercings, no visible tattoos, and no facial hair.The young man at the cash register sported many days growth of beard. I don’t know whether he was growing a beard, or just too lazy to shave, but in any case, he had no business anywhere near my food. It is a scientific fact that men shed facial hair at a faster rate than they shed hair from their heads, and a recent survey showed that men can have more bacteria in their beards than dogs do in their fur. The thought of that disgusting hair hovering over my baked goods, possibly shedding hairs carrying who knows what with them was not pleasant. There’s a reason why the males working in bakeries at Publix, Walmart, and other places wear hair nets over their facial hair.

We stopped by to have a snack around 630pm prior to a late reservation at Stirrups. Everything was delicate and delicious. Hope to try more of their offerings in the future.
