Issues with improperly cooked dishes, long wait times, and mediocre breakfast options have led to comparisons with other diners like Denny's. Was Doyle Cartwright at Bob Evans a mag?
On this particular day I just drove from Ft. Lauderdale to Ocala with only three almonds, a walnut, two cashews and a small piece of dark chocolate in my stomach. I was definitely hungry upon my arrival to this Ocala location. We were greeted with a very friendly employee. I looked over the menu and set my sights on the Sunshine Burger. The burger arrived looking just like the picture and tasted amazing. Maybe I was... View all feedback.
What Doyle Cartwright dislikes about Bob Evans:
Not what we have come to expect from Bob Evans. Asked for my hashbrowns crispy, they were press paper thin and so hard they were hard to cut with knife, they wife's sausage were like brown and serve type they were cold and very tough, she had trouble cutting them unable to eat. Ordered the bacon backet, not like the picture, very poor quality bacon View all feedback.
I was disappointed with the five pieces of speck I ordered. Based on the name and the image, I was expecting crispy speck, but what I received was speck topped with pancake syrup. As a diabetic, that didn't work for me. I learned that I need to read the fine print and not just rely on the pictures. However, the rest of the food was fantastic.
3 stars for this device. eating is not better than Dennys or ihop. the price is too high. it is very expensive for everything they get here. if they only spend a lot of money for regular eating, they go here. it is not a better experience than Dennys and it is not better to eat. it is literally eating the same as Dennys. the drinks are even more expensive. spent 13 mice on 4 so. the waitress didn't even change with a refill. next time, I'd just go to Dennys.
Bob Evans has officially lost our business! We arrived and added our name to the waiting list, but unfortunately, Gabriella, the hostess, didn’t seem to understand that putting our name down meant we wanted to be seated in order. We waited 15 minutes, only to see people who arrived after us being seated before us. When we asked why we had been passed over, we received a dismissive response. The manager was unhelpful and just watched us leave dissatisfied and hungry. We won’t be wasting any more time or money at Bob Evans!
The service was quite fast for Easter Sunday. The food was amazing, portions could be bigger. Biscuits are amazing. Unfortunately, the peanut butter is missing, peanut butter. It is about 70% chocolate and it exaggerated the peanut butter. It was good, but I love peanut butter and wanted it to taste like peanut butter.
This is one of my mother's favorite places. She and my father go every morning, but since his death, she stopped. If I have a free day during the week, her first place to go in the morning is Bob's Evans. The staff is amazing and the place is always clean and the food is always at the point. IHOP is never an option Bob Evans always for victory.
