During our trip to Portugal we were visiting Lisbon and Sintra, but best food we ate was in Obidos. We ordered Black Footed Pig tenderloin, and it was absolutely delicious. Place is atmospheric and cozy and staff are welcoming. View all feedback.
What Leticia Freitas doesn't like about A Nova Casa de Ramiro:
had a late dinner with my man (9:30). the restaurant is beautifully decorated, many candles but was dark for me. very expensive! and the parts are not big. the host is friendly. I didn't think it was worth the price. I wouldn't come back. View all feedback.
Who knew that if we had a few days of field trip from lissabon to wall the medieval – and tourist – city óbidos, we would discover a magic restaurant right in front of the old walls, where we have one of the best meal times we enjoyed. after we moved to portugal! the restaurante a nowa casa de ramiro enchanted us from the first sight with its beautiful, warm atmosphere and friendly staff. it was immediately clear that this was a family business, as the connection between one of the young women's servers and their mother, the hostess, was very pleasant. it turned out that the father was in the kitchen as a cook and between them we were treated to a wonderful culinary experience. we have decided to start with a derada of braided scallops with wild forest mushrooms that are braided in vinho moscatel with lachsroe and wow, what an uncanny combination of aromas and textures! the mushrooms were of slim, delicate, chanterelle type, which almost melted in the mouth, while the skallops were diminutiw, tender and carmelized perfectly for the correct film for the tango sweet note of the motel. for our main we did again one part, this time of a plate prepared only for two, duck magret with mango and red fruit sauce, with dauphinoise kartoffels and a delicate, gourmet salad. we prefer to try different dishes, so we almost sent the duck, but it just sounded too good to miss – and we were thrilled by our choice! the pato was beautifully rare, but juicy gentle to the tooth, and the sosse with the mango surprised us as a magnificent point opposite to the richness of the escape. the kartoffels were pleasing in their combination of creamy and spicy notes, and the slightly dressed salate served to cure the entire congruence on the palate. Of course, without sobremesa, no food is full, and our young waiter – it was his first day, so that we renounce his new skills – a tablet with several alluring tasty ones. sarah chose a calcareous and yogurt-based creamy joy, and I chose a chocolate that was a wonderful coda to the meal! we recommend a visit to the charming place óbidos and if they do, they should be sure to treat themselves to a wonderful experience and a fabulous dinner at the restaurante a nowa casa de ramiro!
