Unquestionably one of the best wineries in the world, and so grounded and warm. You really feel welcome here. In my opinion, in the ratio of five stars, I would like to put one to two on top. We were allowed to try the new vintage on weekends with a group of 12 people. With this God doesn’t know simple 21’s vintage, a grandiose collection has again succeeded. What Norbert Göpfert doesn't like about Weingut Dönnhoff:
Called last Friday and asked if a wine tasting is possible. This has been assured to me and should still consider my phone number to call me back on Monday for appointment as the nice lady goes on vacation. There was no call. Then on Tuesday by the intention to buy wine. There I was told that the whole wine was sold out. I can't believe. I was very disappointed, of course. Very bad. View all feedback.
Dönnhoff Winery, situated at the picturesque vicinity, is a true jewel in the world of wine. Their Rieslings are of exceptional quality and class that delight both connoisseurs and newcomers in the wine world. The Riesling by Dönnhoff is a prime example of the diversity and complexity that this grape variety has to offer. Whether young or mature, each swallow reveals a symphony of aromas ranging from crisp green apples and citrus fruits to ripe peaches and exotic fruits. The living acid provides freshness and balance, while the mineral notes that are characteristic of the soils of the seam give depth and complexity. But what makes this Riesling really a “must” is its impressive aging ability. Over time, the wine develops an incredible depth and complexity, with fruit aromas becoming more mature and intense and notes of honey, dried fruits and spices added. Despite its development, the wine retains its lively acidity and minerality, leading to a wine rich as well as refreshing. Overall, the Riesling by Weingut Dönnhoff is an impressive wine that perfectly expresses the terroir of the Nahe. It is an absolute must for every wine lover and an enrichment for each wine collection.
All my bottles of the vintage look like that! Cork's coming out. The 7th bottle of the vintage. Never again wine from this producer!

It is simply fun to follow Mr Schömel's detailed, competent and charming remarks and to taste these complex wines. Although our day was strictly clocked, one is for every minute (some were grateful, which was covered here by the time set, because Mr Schömel then again bred a bottle. Thank you very much for the group. Clear recommendation and both thumbs up... but something high...
