This place is small but cozy, and you could say that about the menu too. It's a coffee shop, but they serve full cooked breakfasts, ample and at very reasonable prices. It is very conveniently located in the center of the city and was just around the corner from our hotel so we returned several times. The service was friendly and helpful and the food quite good! What August Dupont doesn't like about Cafe Cafe:
I went into the cafe for breakfast. It was not very busy, but I waited quite some time for the menu and then an inordinate time before I left without even ordering. The menu is limited, but has some nice sounding things on it - especially juices. But there is a limit to how long I will wait. There were 3 staff and not many more customers than that, so there was no apparent reason for the slowness. Disappointing for a... View all feedback.
Unfortunately we had unnecessary, very slow, bad service (the 2 star rating) as there were only two more tables that were at the time when we were (and we sat right in front of the bar where the two employees stood (and worked). all the time, we ordered coffee and a light brunch. the coffee finally came, we ended them (not offered refills) and our meal finally came. my enchiladas came out cold, so I asked them to be heated again, then also asked for two aguas frescas to accompany our meal. empty coffee sauces, creamers and sugar containers sat on the table most of the entire meal empty. finally the cook went out with my reheated meal. my wife and I ate our meals slowly, hoping that the aguas frescas will soon come. I finally asked the male barista about our aguas and he seemed to have forgotten about them, and then began to make them. our meals were complete, teller empty and he finally brought us our two drinks. he removed the empty coffee sauces at the time, but left all empty, dirty dishes on the table, so I asked him about our bill. I looked like forever, but the bill finally came. I noticed that he accused us of 4 aguas frescas (not 2,), so I moved him back to the table and showed him the mistake. he took the bill and worked on it for a while in the register, then gave up. he didn't seem to find out. we waited patiently when he went to others to do behind the bar. I have instructed the girl behind the cash for our bill, and she and he spoke, worked together for a past and the corrected bill finally came. eating was ok, not great, but the slow, unintered service was terrible and really made for a bad experience that was easy a 4 star rating, with a little consciousness for details and service.
We stopped in for brunch. The service, food and ambience were excellent. Highly recommend the Enfrijolades.
The title says it all. Great breakfast. Fine coffee. Pleasant atmosphere. What more do you need to get the day started.
Open on two sides, so louder traffic, but it is worth it. very modern decor, light, airy. Organic coffee, good snacks and breakfast menu. our experience was so different from some of the reviews I wonder if they were at another place.? we found the employees to be engaged and friendly, eating was a little slow in coming (through gringo standards, but who counts? but freshly prepared and very good. also good presentation. large coffee, chocolate, tee and aguas frescas
This review is also not for the Cafe Cafe in photos but the place on the corner for breakfast and lunch . Service and food was spot on. Rapido, delicious and served with a smile. The chef even came out to speak with us, only one...other girl working. Omelettes were great and served gratis with a cappuccino. Coffee was so good I purchased a pound to bring home. Limited menu, fresh, delicious pastels but great taste and presentation. For the price you can’t go wrong. We even returned three days in a row! These girls deserve five stars.
