Fat Sally's Pub And - Oamaru

Short answer YOU MUST GO HERE. Worth ANY drive. Long answer cozy pub, literally had a fire going. The food was in effing credible. I'm not the highest level of foodie but food is one of my top priorities in life. So it's a big deal when I say this food made me want to cry. I had the Wonder Bra (stuffed chicken) and my dad had the lamb. The potatoes had a reduced balsamic drizzle and the sweet potatoes were just a touch crispy on the outside, the best I've had in my life. Dad's lamb fell off the bone and my chicken was great. Did I mention the potatoes?!?? Portions were huge, wish I could have eaten more. Top 10 restaurants in my life.

Fat Sally's is a pub and restaurant in the main street of Oamaru, housed in a former bank building. With very friendly staff, and a very good and varied menu, it's a very good option for a casual drink or meal while visiting Oamaru. On Wednesday nights the pub hosts the weekly pub quiz, which can make getting a table in the front challenging, but there is ample additional space toward the back.

We were recommended to this place by a local for lunch. The bar setting was very nice but the food were spectacular. My party had 5 people and we ordered 6 courses with 1 to share. Their chicken salad was awesome and I rarely eat poultry. We had nothing but great things to say about the food. Definite a place to visit if you are looking for great food with great hospitality.
