August 8 - Oakville
August 8
Description
August 8 offers great food with a mix of positives and negatives. The sushi quality is a standout, but prices are higher than expected. Service varies, with some tables receiving subpar treatment while others rave about promptness. The iPad ordering system is a hit, especially for kids. The atmosphere is pleasant, but some dishes, such as the sashimi and hot and sour soup, fail to impress. Despite some service hiccups, many patrons find August 8 a satisfying dining experience, ideal for family gatherings or casual lunches. Whether you're a returning customer or a first-timer, August 8 offers a unique Asian fusion experience.

The dumplings were cold and had a rubbery texture, as if they had been left out for some time. The deep-fried crab and cheese rolls barely had any cheese and were also cold and hard, making them difficult to chew. The Philadelphia roll was decent, but it was not rolled properly, causing the filling to spill out as soon as I picked it up. Overall, the experience felt very rushed. I won't be ordering from August 8 again.
Our go-to sushi place! The staff are absolutely wonderful and super friendly... which I haven't seen in other sushi places tbh. The food is amazing, the rolls, sushi, sashimi, dumplings, spring rolls were all on point. My favorite mango ice cream to wrap up the meal is fantastic here as well!Highly recommend!!
The sushi is incredibly delicious and always fresh. I also really enjoy their dim sum selection.
This is a fantastic restaurant! The food portions are small, but you can order as much as you'd like. We had a party of nine, but there were only two tablets available for ordering, which made things a bit more challenging; it would have been easier with more. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. They even brought out a small cake for the birthday girls, which was a nice touch.
