What 223 doesn't like about Taste Of China:
Food was not what expected, very dull taste I've travel and try Chinese food so believe when I say I've had my fair share of Chinese food and this has to be the worst place I've ate Chinese food at orange chicken lack of flavor , kung pao chicken smelled very bad and tasted just as much , beef and broccoli was lacking flavor, pork fried rice was mid , and the spice chow mei was mid as well overall food was not great... We travelled to the area and we were hungry, so we ordered takeout and I was so surprise how bad the food was given what we ordered was very basic fares. The GonBao Chicken feel like a completely different dish, the chicken was shredded instead of diced, and it was wet with sauce instead of dry with sauce reduced which made the dish taste bland.I didn’t have much expectation but this chicken dish really is as basic as they come, will pass and try other restaurants in the area.
I remember when this restaurant first opened. The food quality was just mediocre. Each year that goes by, there have been steady improvements. ? Not just the food quality, but also, the Chinese atmosphere is much more pronounced than it used to be. Nan has definitely spent quite a bit of money on bringing the Chinese atmosphere to this quaint restaurant. What's nice is that there is exterior dining, now. When it comes to Nan (the owner): Don't be afraid to speak up if you have an issue with your food. She wants you to have a really great meal and a happy experience. If something is wrong, she will fix it for you without hesitation. Her workers are just as ready to make it right for you. Parking: Lots of parking. Except during really busy times. It can be a little more cramped. Kid-friendliness: The owner has a youngster of her own. Wheelchair accessibility: Parking lot is fairly flat, and there are some accessibility ramps to get up on the curb and enter the business.
This is the best cashew chicken I have had in a very long time. Husband got broccoli beef and he raved about it. This is our go to place in Oakhurst. This pate was heaping full. I didnt think about a photo till after I was eating. Sooooo good.
We usually have meals delivered but on this occasion we were in town, also delivery changed $15!!, only 5 miles. The menu has really changed as well as prices and offerings. I normally order lunch for 1 for dinner. I started to place my order and was abruptly told no, this only for lunch. Now what..well had two order just sweet and sour pork which is more food than I can eat in a week, price was more. Husband ordered beef and green beans, beef amount was minimal and tough, beans weren't crisp. Decided to order fried rice-ouch. Price $40+ Won't be going back anytime soon.
