Gene's Bread - Oak Island

During our family holiday, we decided to celebrate my daughter's birthday with a cake. I came across Nancy Jo's Bakery and placed an order. I requested a few roses to decorate the cake and was pleasantly surprised when I saw the final product. The cake was covered in beautiful rosettes all around! Not only was it visually stunning, but it also tasted delicious. The staff was extremely friendly. It was definitely a hit at the birthday party!

That's the strangest place of the business I've ever met. I ordered a cake for picking up at a certain time and paid for it so that I could quickly get in and out for a date. When I arrived to get the cake, it was not ready and would not be for at least one hour. I pressed a little frustration to the young lady waiting for me and asking for a refund because I couldn't wait for the cake. she said she couldn't do this and talk to her father and apparently told him I wasn't happy. he did a blue steak to me, and I hanged on him and ran out. I lost $40 for the cake. another note: no one wears masks except when they come forward to wait for customers, if the customer wears a mask.

The cake was amazing and tasted as good as it looked, if not better! We appreciate the hard work that was put into creating this masterpiece. Thank you!

Three employees. No masks. my man and I had both on masks and were surprised to see this lack of care for their customers. first and last visit this bakery. be sure.

The staff is rude and the owner runs his business poorly. Why would you attack your customers over a comment made by an employee. Nobody wears masks. And they clearly don’t respect our police. This was evident when the employee said they didn’t want to make the baskets because they were for the police departments. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone there are better bakeries in Shallotte. Give them try instead!!!!
