One of the best Mexican restaurants in the oak hill/Fayetteville area. They just added some new options. I had the Al pastor tacos and the Birra quesadilla (same as Birra taco pretty much) they were delicious! I?d recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting an authentic tasting Mexican cuisine. What Nicole Drought doesn't like about Rio Grande Ii:
I was terribly disappointed with the food we purchased. I dont usually have negative reviews but our order was just bad. I'm pretty sure I was charged higher for one meal that was available on the lunch menu. It was the same size meal as the lunch menu one. Very little lettuce and tomatoes in the containers. I ordered a side of queso for $3.50 and it was the smallest to go container I have ever seen. Ordered 2 meals... View all feedback.
Wonderful service! I ordered the chicken tortilla soup. The portion was very generous, but it lacked a little flavor.
This is simply bad food. We went because we got to town late and it was one of the only places open. It had good reviews but I honestly don't understand how.. The meat had no flavor and I'm pretty sure it was from a can. No joke, it had that canned taste and no effort to even cover it up or braise it in sauce or anything. We ordered bean dip and our waiter brought out what looked like queso. We didn't care because we were starving and who doesn't like queso right?? Well, it turned out that it was queso poured on top of beans. Not a bad concept, beans with queso on top, except their queso is so watered down that we had some sort of soupy cheese sauce with a couple spoonfuls of beans at the bottom. I mean, it's just strange. The portions are skimpy compared to the average Mexican restaurant. The margarita tasted like it had zero tequila in it. Seriously just not good. I don't get why people eat here and actually enjoy it. The staff was friendly and prompt service. However I will say I asked about an item and was told it came a certain way and it came out not at all what was described. Again, ok I will eat whatever but... see above
I may be biased because I could eat Mexican food everyday, but I have went to this restaurant for 15+years. Their salsa is always great, and tastes the same every time. The food is delicious, and the margaritas are strong.
Amazing hard working staff, delicious food and drinks. A pleasant surprise on our visit to the New River Gorge area. Stop by and support this great local restaurant.
