Description

**Dining at Esteban's: A Mixed Bag of Experiences**

Esteban's has become a local favorite for its vibrant atmosphere and classic Mexican cuisine, with many praising its generous portions and authentic flavors. Signature dishes, like the veggie burrito and shrimp enchiladas, are highlights, and the friendly service often makes diners feel like family. However, not all experiences are memorable; issues with slow service and inconsistent food quality have been reported, affecting overall satisfaction. While some relish the fresh, deep-fried churros and tasty micheladas, others have encountered mishaps, such as incorrect charges and mediocre salsa. Overall, Esteban's offers charm, but dining here may be variable.

This has quickly become our favorite Mexican restaurant in Oak Harbor. The food is solid, classic Mexican cuisine. Everything is fresh, the chicken in the enchiladas is juicy, and the chips and salsa are both fresh and delicious. I decided to try something different and ordered fried jalapeños as an appetizer, and they were fantastic—plus, you get four big ones for a very reasonable price. The service is consistently friendly, and they even recognize us now, despite the fact that we don’t dine out very often. The staff always has a smile and seems genuinely happy to be there. They are also very kind about my poor pronunciation of "gracias," responding with cheerful "de nada." What more could you ask for?

The food here is genuinely good. We were seated promptly but then experienced an unusually long wait to place our order, as there seemed to be some confusion about who was supposed to attend to us. However, once that was resolved, the service became quick and friendly. The drinks were enjoyable, but I noticed that prices have gone up due to inflation—$13.50 for a standard Cadillac Margarita is quite steep. Overall, it was a good experience, albeit with a few minor imperfections.

Food was just ok. Service was terrible. The server dropped off our food and never came back. My soda was 3/4 empty, so I placed it at the edge of the table. Our server and several others walked by and never asked if I needed another. When we were through eating and both glasses were empty, we stacked the plates and placed them at the edge of the table. They too went un-noticed. Eventually, someone took the plates and asked if we wanted anything else. We said no. I figured the bill would come to the table soon after saying no to that question. Almost 10 minutes later, I had to get up and tell someone we needed our bill.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The mole was sweeter than what I’m accustomed to, but it was still enjoyable.
