The reservation process was a bit frustrating due to the limited time slots available. I wanted to arrive for dinner at 5:30 PM, but the earliest time available was 6 PM. Nonetheless, the overall experience was outstanding. My son, who uses a wheelchair, and I enjoyed delicious food that was surprisingly affordable. It was an excellent value for money. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, making us feel comfortable and unhurried throughout our visit. I look forward to returning soon.
When we arrived, we were quickly shown to our table, despite the staff dealing with a very large funeral crowd. We were served by two gentlemen, one named Brand and another young man whose name I didn’t catch—my apologies! They were always cheerful and couldn’t have been more helpful. The meals were absolutely amazing; the four steaks were cooked to perfection, and the steak and ale pie and kid's meal were also divine. The only slight disappointment was the absence of fries, but the regular chips that accompanied the meal were delicious! A big thank you to Mark, the other server, and the chef—everyone made our experience very enjoyable!
Brand, Lucy, and the team created a beautiful setting for the wake, allowing friends and family to gather and honor a truly special person. I received numerous compliments about the food, so thank you, Lucy. I can just imagine him smiling at the tuna fish sandwiches and the French fanzine. Both of you were incredibly kind to me during our conversations – thank you for that.
I've also dined here, and the menu is impressive—diverse and reasonably priced. The quality of the food is excellent, making it a great spot for both family meals and casual get-togethers with friends. It's truly one of the best pubs in the Whetstone area if you're looking for a relaxing pint and a packet of crisps.
