The restaurant has ample parking and a tastefully decorated interior. There is plenty of seating available, but it is advisable to make a reservation in advance. The food was of good quality with generous portions, and the service was friendly and efficient. Overall, a visit to this restaurant is worthwhile. View all feedback.
What sophie h doesn't like about Tipu Sultan:
I recently visited a restaurant located next to an urgent care facility, and I was shocked by the behavior of the security guard in the car park. Our family, which includes a severely autistic child, was parked in the disabled bay when the security guard began harassing us. The child was clearly frightened and distressed, but the guard did not stop. Instead, he continued to pressure my partner to move our car out of... View all feedback.
Great food and aromas. space looks absolutely amazing. great staff. prices are premium.
Elegant decor. Lovely mouth watering dishes. Samosa Chaat, along with ghost handi , was awesome, also we liked faluda as a dessert. Definitely a place to visit with family and friends.
One of the best in Leicester! Overall, The food from this place is delicious. The poppadoms always come fresh and with a delicious chutney selection. I usually order the butter chicken because you can never go wrong with that as it’s packed full of flavour and never disappoints a keema naan one of the tastiest around, I prefer how it’s actual mince inside, as opposed to a thin patty of meet that tastes cheap like a donner kebab . As well as butter chicken, we’ve ordered the chicken tikka a lot too. This is where the issue arises. It’s a 50/50 on which chicken tikka you’ll get. Sometimes, it comes looking like the first picture chicken tikka . Chicken chunks in a dark orange creamy smooth gravy. Other times, it comes as the second picture …also chicken tikka . Which is slices of chicken in a much darker colour gravy which is no where near as smooth and clearly has other visible ingredients in it herbs etc . They also taste different. The first one is what you’d expect from a chicken tikka. The second one is much more spicy and has a more intense flavour. Both are tasty. It’s just not consistent! I have contacted the restaurant about this but they failed to reply.
Had a great experience, service was great, planning to visit again...
It was my first visit to Tipu Sultan in Leicester, and it was a great experience. The staff were great, friendly, welcoming, and provided a great service. The find was brilliant, and portions were just right. Definitely visit again when I'm back in Leicester.
