We visited this wonderful restaurant on our first night in Nyons, on the recommendation of our local hosts. Just a few minutes walk from the main Place de la Liberation, away from the busy enclave of restaurants, Les Oliviers is personified Provençal Ruhe. We dined on the raised garden terrace, watching the sunset and had a fabulous meal. And excellent value; 22 Euro for the 3 course menu gourmande. The team of man and woman was friendly and friendly. We discovered that the boss had spent time in our hometown of London, who had a treat at La Gavroche under Albert Roux at such a fabulous food at not London prices! Visit, you will not be disappointed.
The kitchen in Les Oliviers is easily among the best in Nyons and probably the best value, safe. For the €20 menu we had different choices, including a traditional nyonaise cake with Olive Sabayon, a wonderful chicken breast with a fruity/dijon mix that was very interesting and very tasty, and a selection of desserts including my favorite chocolate souffle with a caramel center. This meal was definitely not the ordinary dish of Jour. The flavors were clear and well tuned, the recipes were clearly French Provençal, but with a flair reflect Chef Jean Claude Troisville's Parisian and Japanese experiences. Wines covered a decent range and were favorable. Our guests enjoyed every course and I was sure it was. I highly recommend it.
