Caveau de Nyon

We attended a group function at the Caveau de Nyon with friends. Located in the basement of the Chateau de Nyon, it is a quiet little restaurant that has a lot of character. The raclette evening serves all-you-can eat raclette, with a small plate of charcuterie as the entree. The food was tasty, raclette was delicious, but all in all I felt that it was a little overpriced for what you get. After all, we were paying almost $100 CHF per couple for melted cheese and potatoes! The entire table of 20 people had only two small bowls of onions and pickles, and one basket of potatoes to share around. This meant that conversations were interrupted frequently to pass things along the table. There was also not enough wine supplied for the money we had paid, and we had to pay extra at the end. Service was reasonable, atmosphere was great, but I am not sure I will rush back for the raclette evening again.

Amazing experience in this place not known by everyone. I recommend booking a table before coming. The server was sooo beautiful and the food was excellent. I recommend the Raclette à Volonté!

I had heard so much about the Caveau de Nyon before I visited the first time last year. I completely fell in love with the place and the manager, Stephane is such an accommodating person. He offers local produce, wines and cold cuts, cheese and lovely bread. It is in the cellar of the old castle in Nyon and you really get the feeling of being part of history there. It is small and intimate but such a great place. They also do Raclette evenings once a month and Jazz evenings the lasts Thursdays of every month from September to April. I had the office christmas cocktail there in December and we were served so much lovely food that we were almost rolling home afterwards. If you haven't been here yet, you are definitely missing out!

Raclette and Chasselas are in the menu. It is perfect for a private party, they are very flexible for the decor. Beautiful atmosphere with vaulted ceiling and stone floor.

The chateau in Nyon is such a special place and a visit to the Caveau is a must. The environment is so cool and sit for a bottle of local wine with a plate of meat / cheese to snack on is a good way to spend a few hours. When we visit guests in Nyon, we will take them to Caveau!
