For a quick, fast food lunch, it would be tough to do better. I was taking the Bar Exam at the convention center across the street and walked here for a quick lunch. Convenient and scenic location with plenty of outdoor seating and great views. The Cuban sandwich absolutely hit the spot! View all feedback.
What KC in NY doesn't like about Smokin Mango:
Was passing through and needed a quick bite. Self service, so no table service, but the cashier was nice enough to bring my order to me, and majority of the tables are outdoors. Nice size fish, though it fell apart when I tried to eat it. It was tasty and would definitely go back again. View all feedback.
Normally when I hear fish camp I think of frozen seafood fried beyond taste. Ray 's Fish Camp Far Surpassed This Idea!! From the moment you order from Grace their Ambassador to finish. Every Piece Is FRESH and Hot at your table!! All the sauces are delicious and house made. If you have lunch or dinner you WILL want to come back. ?????

At first, one might feel compelled to keep driving, as Big Ray’s Fish Camp is far from “showey,” not to mention studio apartment-small. However, that would be a huge MISTAKE! I must say that it was the (lunchtime) lineup outside that caught my attention -and I’m glad I decided to join it! Aside from a decent (although somewhat limited) selection of fish -that’s very FRESH, the choices offered are enticingly simple but creative; from their Grouper Reuben, to Shrimp Po’Boy; from Smoked Fish Dip, to Grouper Cheeks. And don’t forget their Key Lime pie, and even Fried Oreos… and more! And although their (indoor) seating is VERY limited, there is plenty of shaded (outdoor) seating available. Overall, if you’re in the vicinity I would strongly recommend you veer off your path and add this establishment to your dining pleasure… you won’t be disappointed.
I ate here 4 times over 8 days. Partly because of the Cuban Sandwich, partly because of its location-good view of the reiverfront, close to the Hotel and Convention Center, partly because the food at the Convention Center was not that good. I got the Cuban and the first two were awesome, the last pair were ok. The difference? The quality of and amount of pork. The first two times the pork was incredible, the last two not as flavorful and not as much meat. They do sell soft drinks there, but you can also take your food to the outside tables (many of them have shade) or to the adjacent bar Sail Away to grab an alcoholic beverage. Reasonnably priced for this part of town. Cubans were 13 (included fries) and most of the sandwiches were between 12-17 dollars.
Is noisy, crowded, the food is expensive and over priced, and average at best. What more is there to say. Take a pass on this place.
