Bocelli Modern Italian - Nowatney

Super cute hidden gem in south Tampa! I pass this place daily and we decided to give it a try for date night! A very modern italian scene, you can dress up or down for this place. Food menu had quite a selection and the food was good! Only giving it 4 stars because it can get a little loud in there especially when they have live music.

Food was excellent. Sauces were excellent. Service was excellent. Very very expensive. If you ask for bread be careful because you pay for it and if you would like more to sop up sauces, you pay for it. Surprised we weren't charged for our water. Only top end scotch, didn't see price, but I tend to drink my macallens at home anyway. My daughters family loves the place but it's beyond this retirees savings. Good luck bocellis.

Stopped in for dinner with the fam. Started out with the huge meatballs then had Gnocchi !! Delicious !! Marisa was our server, such a kind soul and an excellent server. I highly recommend this establishment to everyone. Will be back to see Marisa.

I recently tried this restaurant with a friend for a weeknight girls night out. We started with the garlic knots which were filled with fontina and roasted garlic. They were delicious. We then had the lasagna special and the Funghi E Formaggio pizza. The lasagna had a rich Bolognese sauce with creamy ricotta on top and was fantastic and the pizza was equally as delicious! We also tried the Apple crostata for dessert and I had an espresso martini. The apple dessert was decadent and served with ice cream and the cocktail was a perfect pairing. I really enjoyed the food and the service was great as well, my only nitpicking thing would be that the bench I was sitting on was unstable and the black tablecloths were creased and looked cheap so I feel like a few updates to the look would help the vibe but again that's nitpicky and I would definitely come back!!

If you are near MacDill Air Force and haven't tried Bocelli's- you're missing out! Very authentic and delicious Italian food. My wife and I had a variety of items from the menu including calamari, caprese, spaghetti with meatballs and salmon. All were great! My wife said the spaghetti sauce was as good as her homemade sauce! We topped it all off with the tiramisu and 2 spoons. Atmosphere was romantic and pleasant. The staff and service was ok, and could benefit from a little more training...but overall, we were very pleased!
