Awful Waffle at International Plaza and Bay Street in Tampa is a great place to go for all things intense and unique waffles. I really like their selection of different creations and how good everything tastes. The staff here is very friendly and efficient at getting everything ready for you. This place lives by its name “awful waffle”. It was truly awful. The waffle bites were super hard. This was the first time we had ever eaten there and the experience was terrible. I will say the staff was super nice and helpful. View all feedback.
The server was friendly but quite oblivious. She completely forgot my entire order. I had ordered four items, and while she made my milkshake, she then left the stand and disappeared for 15 minutes. I waited, thinking she might need assistance, but when she returned, it was just with some supplies. I thought that was fine. Another five minutes passed, and I finally spoke up, saying, "Hello? I'm still waiting." She asked, "For what?" I reminded her of my order, but she turned around and didn’t start preparing it. I stood there feeling puzzled and eventually decided to leave. I really wish I had asked for a refund. I ended up paying $20 and even left a tip, which feels like a waste.
While the size of the waffle was impressive, the flavor left something to be desired—it was rather bland and lacked excitement. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, but I don't think I would return.
This restaurant definitely lives up to its name, "Awful Waffle." The waffle bites were extremely hard, making for a disappointing experience. It was our first time visiting, and unfortunately, it was not a good one. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
I took a break from my diet to try this place out and let me tell you; the slogan is right: ITS SO GOOD TO BE BAD I got the Gimme Smores and it was absolutely delightful! I loved that they put Graham cracker shavings on top! It's also very portable and convenient. I just wish the packaging was sturdier especially since we're dealing with ice cream that loves to melt and seep through things The staff is super kind as well which is a nice plus Pro tip: Eat it fast because once the ice cream melts it'll fall out from the bottom of the cup
Wow! I just had the chicken and waffles and…I have to say it was delicious! This coming from someone who just visit in Harlem three weeks ago and eat at Sylvia’s birthplace of the chicken and waffles. I’ll definitely be coming back. It’s such a treat to have this place right in our NorthDale’ neighborhood! If you try this, my recommendation is to just pour the maple syrup right on top of everything!
