We were looking for a place for lunch to take my 90+ mother and needed it to be easy access and not too fancy. HopMonk was all that. Service was very good (we got there on the early side) and the menu was great. However, unfortunately the food did not live up to expectations. What User doesn't like about Hopmonk Tavern:
Service is not improving. We arrived at the reserved time and the host told us we need to wait approx 15 min because there was a door line of 10 min. I questioned then, what is the difference to use this app and make a reservation if I need to wait the door line? Service is slow and there is not enough employees to absorb and support the clients. Place is awesome but service needs to improve. View all feedback.
We eat here often. We always get a friendly server, very attentive to us. Food is outstanding! Love the Tahini Kale salad!
Music was great. Service and food was fabulous. Great outdoor area with live music and outdoor fire pit.
Just moved to Novato and trying many places. This one is casual, food is ok and a good spot to drop in. Not in the same category as Boca which is just up the street.
The restaurant is located in a pleasant setting within a shopping mall. The food is satisfactory and the service provided was exceptional.
During our visit, the restaurant had a bad night. The service was extremely slow, with the server apologizing at the end of the meal, attributing it to a busy night. Nobody checked on our satisfaction with the food once it was served. I had to send back the kale salad because it was too salty. They remade it without salt for me. While I have always enjoyed the food here, that night was not a good experience. I hope this was just an exception.
