Excellent French fine dining experience, silver service without the Snobbery. The food was great and the service was above expectations. They were flexible to meet the tasting menu to meet some nutritional requirements. Good wine and recommendations. Not the cheapest but nothing in the tourist area in Noumea is cheap and comparatively good value for quality and service. View all feedback.

We had an excellent culinary experience here. Nothing to blame. Very recommended. The prices are not too much more than other average restaurants in Noumea, but the ambience, food and service are all sooo much better, making it great value. We had doubts coming here as our usual fine culinary experiences contain small overpriced portions, but we were very happy with our meals here, portions were reasonable and they give you bread and appetizer. An unforgettable and pleasant culinary experience of our journey.
Absolutely fine food, in French. Food, service and ambience were all at the point, making sensational food experience. We sat and ordered, but even before our first order arrived, we got a lot as starters. First, a small tar that had blue like Cheesy Cream, that was salty and fruity. Second, a small bowl of melon, zucchini, a fried herbs, which I cannot call, sit on the top of the small pancakes like thin layer, which was refreshing. Finally, there was of course bread for the table I think it was Ciabatta with poppy seed. As a duck I ordered duck foie grass, served with Chutney of fruits. When it arrived, they accompanied it with warm pieces of butter bread seemed like Brioche and that made it all go so well together. I tried the crab Cannelloni that my wife had and that was great. Red Snapper was my main and so much taste packed in beautifully presented dish. Fruit jam was used to keep it refreshing while spinach helped bring out Snapper natural flavor. My wife's mahi was even better. Full unexpected taste that went from chorizo, egg yolk, caviar and fish, curiously presented in emulsion of protein and potato puree. Both were very special. Dessert menu had an article called "the cigar", so I tried. It was essentially chocolate covered crepe cylinders filled with chocolate cream. Cheekily it was served on ash filled with white crumbs to emulsify a cigar. To finish everything, a small round chocolate mousse was served, which was nice, but only a touch unnecessary, as we had both very satisfying dessert already. The service was attentive and welcome. Everyone we interacted spoke good English, and was willing to thoroughly explain the dish and the menu, including my multiple stupid questions due to my experience in French cuisine wine. Yes, the prices were more expensive than other restaurants in Noumea it ended to be about AUD 170 per person. But it felt worth it given the great experience. Also note that you will receive 10% discount if you can join Marriott Bonvoy member for free. The only thing that happened before the arrival. In order to make a reservation, I received the address of the restaurant by sending an email to Le Merediens website about 3 weeks in advance, but could not receive an answer. We were only able to confirm the booking via the reception during the hotel review. I suggest you try to call them internationally. Overall we look forward to our next visit to Noumea. Very recommended.
One of the most amazing meals I've ever had. My friend and I ended our trip in Noumea with a last night dinner at L'Hippocampe. Absolutely everything about this restaurant is perfect, the service is attentive and knowledgeable, the fitout is relaxing and intimate and the food absolutely amazing. Good price to be honest is not much different than patient restaurants on the beach front! If you are in Noumea, you will not be dissapointed.
Delicious. We dined here many nights in our seven nights in NC. Thoughtfully created French fare with the lovely touches you don't get in Australia... eg fresh rolls, complementary apertisters and palate cleanser... overall the food is tasty and served by friendly and professional staff. Highly recommend.
