Visited the Vat and Fiddle for a change before pre-match trip to NFFC, bar full of NFFC supporters, plenty of staff for quick service, ample food menu and a pleasant atmosphere, well worth a pint or 3 of Skreech Owl. View all feedback.

The Vat And Fiddle Pub is an absolutely fantastic establishment that I always look forward to visiting whenever I'm in Nottingham. It serves as a tap room for the Castle Rock Brewery, located right behind the pub. The traditional décor and furnishings, along with a solid wood serving bar and ample seating options both indoors and outdoors, make it a charming spot to enjoy a drink. On a hot Wednesday evening, my companion and I opted for the Castle Rock Brewery session IPA, which was served in pristine condition. The crisp and well-balanced IPA was the perfect choice for the warm weather, and we enjoyed sipping our drinks outside while planning our night. The pub is located just a three-minute walk from Nottingham Railway Station on Queens Bridge Road, making it easily accessible for visitors. Overall, The Vat And Fiddle Pub is a wonderful spot to grab a drink and relax, and I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area.
Great pub with great service and excellent beer. All as safe as it should be with table service with a smile
Assuming that not having eaten my vote can be wrong, I review this place only after drinking some beer. The pub belongs to Castle Rock Brewery a historic independent brewery of Nottingham. The brewery was founded by the owners of a pub that, after many years of serving quality beer, decided to open a brewery to turn the pubs into the factory's real tap rooms. Of course, within the more than 20 open rooms you can also find beers of other English craft and independent labels, but to make the big voice are the CRB beers, which bets on clear and dark typical of the English tradition. The local in question is really nice, it resumes the canons of the classic English pub almost completely covered in wood; the counter is a little small but we work 2-3 girls and boys at the time for which we proceed quite shipped. I don’t know if with food I would have had different approaches, surely the experience would have been more complete, but the service and the atmosphere were of great level and the beers (try a golden ale, a bitter and an oatmeal stout) have respected the canons going even beyond my expectations. British beer made as you must. Great.
Yes, it's chilly! Very cold, which is good if you're concerned about Covid since it's spacious and airy. The pub itself is average, but with good service. The restroom could use some improvement, but overall it's a decent spot.
Last time I came in here it was before Covid, after seeing my team play Forest. I remember it well. Pleased to find it hasn't changed. Friendly staff, good beer from the brewery behind the pub, a relaxing place to drink. Always worth the very short walk from the station. A gem hidden in plain sight.
