Feedback
Reviews praise Memsaab’s ambience, starters and attentive, allergy-aware staff; some guests note variable mains, occasional slow service and higher prices.
Not quite lived up to its reputation but a pleasant experience. The staff is nice and even for a mid week early eve the restaurant was nearly full (restaurant week). The food was good quality. Pre-starters (poppadoms chutneys) were tasty as were starters (paneer and aloo bahaji, reshmi kebab) but the portions of the latter were tiny. They came together with the mains which is not my preference. The mains (zaika gosht and lamb rogan fosh) were run of the mill, however, the lamb in zaika gosht was slightly dry. I was full and pleased after the meal but I was expecting more from Indian fine dining . There are better Indian restaurants in Nottingham for slightly lower prices.
This was probably my second or third time to have dinner in this place and just like always the dishes served tasted great and the service was very convenient and friendly. I made an online reservation and then made a slight change on it and all was properly handled. The staff was helpful and gave recommendations on what and how much to order so we ended up with good tasty choices and no leftovers. The place offers halal food and the staff was clear in confirming this fact and highlighting one menu item only that wasn’t. So if you are looking for this type of food then this place is a good choice. Expect to pay around 30 pounds per person for a satisfactory meal.
I went there recently and when I walked in I was hit by an Indian atmosphere and a smell of expensive perfume. When we sat down the menus were so fancy and nice. The service was really good and Quick. Overall it was a solid 9/10
The appetizers were delicious, but I was disappointed with the chicken tikka masala. The chicken was tough and tasted like it had been reheated with sauce poured over. It was not up to my expectations. However, my husband really enjoyed the lamb dish.
