If a restau... read more We phoned to order takeaway pizzas. The person we spoke to rudely told us that he was too busy to do takeaway that evening, leaving us high and dry. If a restaurant offers takeaway it offers takeaway and should not deny customers the option whenever they feel like it. Never again.

Long-established and st... read more It is always a delight to find a genuine Italian restaurant deep in the suburbs of a British city, and Luigi's definitely hits the spot. Long-established and still run by the founder's family, it is evidently very popular with local residents, and it was full on the midweek evening when we went for dinner. We went on recommendation, and fortunately we had booked. Our main course was saltimbocca. Made with thinly sliced pork, rather than the more traditional veal, it was absolutely delicious. Two courses, two large glasses of wine, two coffees, and the bill came to less than £60. No wonder the locals like it so much!

We waited 45 minutes for our starters and then another 30 minutes for mains. When they arrived the steak was tough and the pizza was chewy. It was all a bit disappointing.
