we had a nice family dinner in the Kar-o bar. the personal was friendly and enthusiastic about their new venture, and we loved the selection of food: some more familiar dishes and some unusual. all were excellent, and our 3-year-old had fun too. it was great for a weekend lunch, but the bar looked good at camp. highly recommended. What User doesn't like about Karobar Indian Street Food Craft Beers:
Bit deflated after our visit here. Was expecting so much more. Food was below average as flavour was lacking portions were ridiculously small. For the amount we spent and still left hungry, safe to say won't go back. They have taken street food from traditional India and tried to modernise and mess with tradition, by flavour and overpricing. Food is presented nicely but lacks that Indian kick we expected, And generos... View all feedback.
I expected more from this fairly new bar which serves Indian street food. It serves tapas type plates which were expensive for what was presented. I found the dishes to be bland and some were only warm when served. However there is a large selection of gluten free dishes. A mix of food came quickly which made me think it was not cooked fresh. The craft beer was mainly bottles and cans with a couple of poorly kept beers on tap. This is near a trendy area of Nottingham city centre but it does not have to charge London prices. I am sorry to say that I will not be returning anytime soon.
The food was actually ok, nice for a snack however they over charged for what was a very small portion, 5 pound plus for draft beer again over priced service was poor. I am rating as poor as cost of meal was excessive for a small small meal à
After being ignored by the male server on walking in a lovely lady served us and showed us to a seat. She explained some of the dishes and we made our choices. But once we started looking round we noticed that the place was actually quite dirty even though we thought this was a new bar so we were a little surprised, but we decided to stay, hoping the food would make us forget. But sadly the food was awful!!! My partners chicken curry was cold and my choice, (I forget the name) was obviously microwaved and I had to search for the “chunks” of paneer! The nan breads were obviously shop bought and the rice was also cold. If it wasn’t for the lovely lady who served us, was trying very hard we would have kicked up a fuss. I would never go here again I’m afraid!
Ordered a combination of plates to share- the chaat was particularly good and I liked the atmosphere as well.
My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant in Nottingham over the weekend and were highly impressed. The staff were delightful, the ambiance was fantastic, and the food was scrumptious. The menu suggests ordering 3 plates, but we found this to be a bit excessive (perhaps because some dishes are served with rice and we also ordered larger plates). Despite this minor issue, I would highly recommend dining here to anyone.
