This restaurant in Nottingham probably serves the best sushi in the area, possibly even in the Midlands. The prices are very reasonable. I recommend trying the red dragon sushi and the salt and pepper squid. The staff is young and friendly, they even showed my mom how to use chopsticks since she had never been to an Asian restaurant before. The music playing is modern R&B and hiphop, which I personally enjoyed. The toilets are very clean as well. The only suggestion for improvement would be the presentation of the menu, as it looks quite basic. If you find yourself in Nottingham, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit!
Truely appalling service tonight. We were sat down and ignored for 20 Minutes until we waved the waitress and ask if we could order some drinks. They didn 't bring our drinks until 20 Minutes later and we had to request water at least three times. Food started to arrive sporadically (one starter, one main, another starter 10 minutes later... and my friend tried her vegetarian spring rolls that were brought to her. They were actually duck rolls. Needless to say she was very upset and couldn 't eat the rest of her food. Absolutely disgusting! After all this mess we were about to pay when we were asked to pay be cash because the manager was off and this is how the staff would get paid?! What?! At least the food was great, only redeeming quality of a place we 'll probably never set foot in ever again.
The noodles aren't bad, but I've had better. The noodle and rice dishes don't feel entirely authentic and catered a little too much to the British taste... However, the sushi is to die for, and very authentic! Its not served too cold, so you get all the beautiful flavours. You must try the dragon roll! I'd come back here time after time for the sushi and tempura
We had A table of three. We had never visited before. The food was amazing, I really enjoyed it. Very filling, and extremely tasty. We went about half five on a Saturday. Wasn't that busy. Three other tables and a few take away orders happening. However, the service was quite poor. They were very polite. I understand the food comes out as it's ready. My friends starter didn't come out until about five minutes after we had all finished our main. However, It was really hard to get the waiting staff's attention if you wanted any more drinks (or to ask where the starter was). They were stood with their backs to us chatting in the corner. Also, they over charged one of my friends as the steak choice wasn't available and were offered chicken instead. That was rectified once we brought it to their attention on the receipt. My meal came to £15, one came to around £22 and another £18. We all paid in cash, myself £20, my friend £20 and the other friend £25. We never received any change. I tried to get the waiting staffs attention. However, this didn't work as they wouldn't look In our direction as they were too busy talking. We hadn't decided how much to tip, I'd have rather our change brought over rather than the waiting staff just deciding to keep our change as a tip. I find that quite presumptuous and rude. Which is a shame. As he food was so lovely, and I feel it was spoiled by how difficult it was to call any waiting staff over. I am also incredibly disappointed that they just ignored us for most of the time we were there. I shouldn't have to struggle to get their attention and ask for my change back. It just made the whole experience really really awkward and uncomfortable.
Busy, authentic japanese restaurant, close to the centre of Nottingham. Formerly Skinny Sumo the make-over has been a change for the better. Since the change, there is no longer an all-you-can-eat Sunday buffet, however, on a more aesthetic note, the restaurant no longer looks like a cafe/canteen. The vegetarian teppanyaki set menu is fantastic. Its very good value and very filling! We took two sushi newbies to Bonzai and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
