I wasn 't looking for much but I feel as if I hit the jackpot with Yoi Tomo Sushi. My order arrived a bit before they predicted nice and HOT. And oh the broth of the dumpling soup was heavenly with lovely dumplings and lots of veggies. The yellow tail roll was excellent but the sushi Lobster roll was like the icing on the cake. What Doug H doesn't like about Yoitomo Sushi:
Been here a few times. Had a really bad spider roll that smelled like low tide and didn't return for more than a tear. Should have stayed away. Ordered another spider roll and the crab was incinerated, the only guy in there took almost an hour to make the roll after telling me 20 mins so I sat and waited 30 mins more. Extremely fresh sushi, the salmon is esp good. Tempura udon is great too, the broth has a lot of veggies which makes it more flavorful. Loved that the rice wasn’t too sweet, and the owner is so nice. My new fave sushi place!
Don't order teriyaki. Looks like someone ate half of it. The portion is very small and the chicken is very dry.
One of the best sushi places in Bergen County for the quality and freshness of the fish as well as the price. Can’t go wrong that it’s BYOB and it’s a local business(mom and son) I love supporting! Definitely order the sushi sashimi and roll platter like in the picture.In regards to the negative reviews below, I can’t disagree with them enough…people who know what sushi will love this place
I hate to leave a bad review as the owner is a nice man . But I have to say that the quality of the food was supermarket quality sushi. Nothing like the pictures in the reviews so I am guessing maybe since these reviews are over a year old , maybe the place suffered from the pandemic or something . The fish used is very low grade and the poor owner is doing almost everything himself . Taking orders on the phone while preparing the sushi , it can’t be hygienic to do that . Not a good experience I wouldn’t recommend .
