This chinese place is very close to home for us so it's really convenient. We have gotten takeaway from here a few times. View all feedback.
Great cantonese food. Ask for the specials of the day you will be in for a gastronomic treat with unusual dishes. The chef is always accommodating for those with a discerning palate.<br/
The sing fei rice is so yummy. So few restaurants in Johannesburg know how to simply cook rice...<br/ Tried the crispy pork which was delicious as recommended by the owner. The spicy calamari was not so special though.<br/ <br/ I am so happy to have found this place! It is the (decent Chinese food I have been looking for for years because my preference goes for Cantonese food.<br/ <br/ The take away prices are reasonable too. But I don't mind sitting there. Went there on a Saturday night (8.15pm-ish and we were served food within 15 minutes.<br/ There is no need to impress anyone there which is sometimes what is needed.<br/ <br/
My dad likes it here and he is damn fussy. Terms of Cantonese food it is the best in Joburg. If my dad says it I believe it. As he lives in Hong Kong and when he visits here it is go to place. Decor ain't jazzy but you get decent canto food. Plus those amazing custard buns are almost like the ones in HK.
A great Cantonese style Chinese restaurant. If you want authentic and affordable Chinese food this is one place for you : their garlic seasonal veggies is the best I've had in SA. I was so into the food I forgot to take photos, haha.
There are a lot of Chinese tourist groups at this place. Any time of the day. This is a good sign. As per usual, you have to have an argument about ordering anything they deem not to be suitable for the pallette of the westerner. They are generally right tho. Jellyfish has absolutely no flavour, with the texture of a rubber band. The starter platter is great. The duck is nice. The spring onion crab is excellent...but with all crab (apart from soft-shell) its an event to eat.
