Description

The evolving landscape of local pubs reveals a distinct divide between two establishments. One struggles with a challenging atmosphere, where unruly patrons and dismissive staff create an unwelcoming environment for newcomers. This location desperately seeks transformation, yet its potential feels stifled by the current dynamics. Conversely, The Fiveways Pub emerges as a beacon of hope, boasting friendly service, delicious food, and a vibrant atmosphere that embraces both locals and newcomers. With live music and a pet-friendly policy, it has rekindled community spirit, leaving patrons eager for more delightful experiences. A local resurgence seems possible, with persistence and investment.

Excellent bar staff loved our experience for our first time going there will be back

A local pub for local people. Very friendly when a group of us turned up in dteampunk gear.

When you're young, a pub is not the first place you would expect to find yourself. However, as the new landlady's daughter-in-law, I had to make the Fiveways pub my second home. In recent years, this pub has seen various employees and owners come and go, but personally, I believe that the newest owner and lady have changed this pub for the better. While they may no longer serve food, the attention to detail from all the staff is impeccable and it's a great spot to enjoy a quiet drink, alcoholic or not. I would recommend everyone to at least make an effort to visit and continue to participate in the spirit of the pub (but socially distant!).

Today I went to catch up with a friend and waited for over 15 minutes to get a drink. The guy behind the bar was busy on his phone, so my friend and I left and went to the next pub.

We saw the advertisement in the local newspaper that The Fiveways had recently changed managers. They are now serving food, so we decided to give it a try. The menu has a good selection of pub food. I had the Chilli covered burger and my wife had a cheese and bacon Hot dog. The meals were lovely, the beer was good, and the service was very friendly. We noticed they have live music regularly so we will be ready for the next music night. I am glad to have a good local pub again, and hopefully the new owners can make a real success of this pub.
