While some patrons rave about the exceptional food, generous portions, and welcoming staff, others report disappointing stays marred by cleanliness issues and inadequate service. Many highlight the delightful outdoor setting, perfect for enjoying meals in the fresh air, with praises for the menu's variety, including standout dishes like yellow Thai curry and venison. However, inconsistency in service and room conditions reminds visitors that while the pub has charm, improvements are necessary for an unforgettable experience. Overall, it remains a spot worth visiting with family and friends.
Great early evening Sunday roast. Plenty of delicious food served by a team of attentive and friendly staff.
Could not fault it. Friendly staff, Good food and a nice pub all round. A great setting. Loved the preserved look of the interior.
During our stay at a rented lodge in Norfolk, we were searching for dog-friendly activities. Bickling Hall Estate was a perfect choice, offering great walks for our dog and the added bonus of the Buck Arms restaurant for a meal afterwards. On Saturday, November 11th, our family of six adults and two dogs visited the estate. Since the weather was pleasant, we opted to sit outside for our meal. The service was excellent, the food exceptional, and the only downside was a few individuals vaping in the designated no smoking area. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. In fact, on November 15th, my wife and I returned for another visit. This time, we chose to dine indoors for a more peaceful experience due to our young, easily distracted dog. The staff understood our request and seated us at a quiet table where we enjoyed a delicious meal and drinks. My wife ordered the Veal chop and I had the Venison, both of which were outstanding. As frequent diners, we can confidently say this was one of the best meals we've had in a long time. The service, food, and overall experience at the Buck Arms were impeccable. Kudos to the entire staff, including the waiters, waitresses, and chef, for a job well done.
Me and my family came to Norfolk to stay and unfortunately although Norfolk is a lovely place, it was soured by our experience at this venue. We stayed as guests in the hotel and it was damp and uncomfortable, The room was dirty and was left untouched when we went out for the day. The food and cleanliness of the restaurant and bar was fine but the service was nonexistent and again had damp patches all over the restaurant walls. It's a shame because it is a lovely little pub in a beautiful area but unfortunately due to bad service and nasty rooms we won't be coming back.
Decided to eat here for lunch, there were 3 of us, and we all had 3 courses, all were delicious. The southern Thai with soft shell crab absolutely delicious. Will return!
