Description

A small, cozy Jamaican spot near Exit 14 in Norwalk earns mixed reactions: flaky, flavorful patties, well-seasoned curry chicken and a praised rice-and-gravy special draw fans, while jerk chicken and some pork dishes are described as bland, dry or rotisserie-like. Service reports vary from warm to brusque, and portioning/pricing feels uneven. Outdoor seating and casual takeout appeal, but inconsistent cooking and authenticity make this a hit-or-miss destination—worth trying specific dishes with tempered expectations.

I was really let down during my last few visits to this restaurant. The portions have shrunk, and they've been adding extra rice to make the dishes appear larger. On my most recent visit, I ordered the lunch portion of Jerk Chicken and Rice, and I was shocked to receive three small pieces that seemed more like pulled strands of chicken. I wasn't expecting a full three-piece meal, but I did hope to get at least one decent piece of chicken. Overall, I'm very disappointed.

Just ate the jerk chicken. This is not jerk chicken but rather a BJ 's or Costco rotisserie chicken with sauce. I 've bought plenty rotisserie chicken to know. And I 'm straight off the boat from Jamaica ??. Not happy with the bait and switch at all. Very disappointed.

I tried the oxtail dish with rice and peas, but it tasted bland, almost like brown stew chicken without any flavor. The jerk chicken was also disappointing and didn’t taste like real jerk chicken. Overall, my experience was disappointing and I found the food to be subpar. I won’t be returning.

Please do yourself, your taste buds, and your wallet a favor and steer entirely clear. The food at this establishment was absolutely disgusting. This is me giving this place a second chance after my chicken and rice was gross and me being promised the next time I came back the food will be better. The j pork I got this time was over cooked and ridiculously dry, and when I asked if I could simply have another item, my request was denied. Said he wouldn't be bothered, terrible staff, overprice food, and a disgusting experience overall.Ambience is not important to me overall because food should be the star of the show, but sadly that wasn't even PASSABLE

A delightful little gem right off of exit 14 in Norwalk. It is cozy but has some outdoor seating where you can regularly find smokers firing away. The staff is extremely friendly and willing to help out, overall giving the humble building a welcoming atmosphere. The food itself is very tasty and fresh. I tried the Jamaican patties, and they really hit the spot. The pastry was crisp and flaky. The filling was flavorful but not too spicy.Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy Jamaican food!
