I was in Bellingham for the Darksky National Park when I visited the Rose Crown. There was a lovely atmosphere, the bar staff were friendly and welcoming, lots of space in a well presented pub, clean and comfortable seating and reasonable prices. Great place all together. Hope to visit again Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 View all feedback.
What Letitia Hilpert doesn't like about Rose Crown:
I came here with my boyfriend following a 26 mile bike ride so we were understandably hungry and wanted something to eat. We chose this pub as it was local to our hotel. The inside is vert grotty and dirty and needs a major refurb. As we entered the pub we asked the bar man for a menu. Everybody sat in the pub laughed and told us we wouldn't get any food round there. We were advised to get a meal deal from the Coop o... View all feedback.
It all depends on how high you set the bar: English or Dutch. In English: perfect English pub. In Dutch: could definitely be a bit better.
I went to a restaurant and they had no food available. They couldn't even recommend another place to eat. The beer was served in an ice-cold keg, but I prefer real ale. By the time I waited for it to warm up enough to drink, it didn't taste very good. The atmosphere of the pub was nice, but I only finished most of my pint before deciding to leave.
Sadly, what used to be the best pub in Bellingham has now hit rock bottom and become the worst. If you can manage to push your way through the smokers who block the door and get inside, the atmosphere is hostile it just does not have the feel of a nice country pub anymore. Have been calling into this place for over 30 years on and off and have no intention of going back. Really grim!
We entered this restaurant around 3pm in search of some food. It appeared decent from the outside. However, after navigating past a group of people smoking by the entrance, we entered the restaurant. The interior smelled of stale beer and had dirty carpets. When we inquired about food, the staff simply laughed and informed us that they did not serve food. We promptly left as quickly as we could.
There 's not much in Bellingham apart from the Co-op and a nice bakers. We had a meal in the Rose Crown which was nice and reasonably priced
