Others, however, praised the friendly staff, excellent service, and delicious vegan and non-vegan options on the menu. The standout dishes included the lamb pathia and the Coconut Chilli Ceylon with Steamed Rice. While some found the food to be disappointing, others declared it the best Indian food they've ever had. The restaurant also received praise for accommodating vegan requests and providing a relaxed atmosphere. Overall, opinions were divided, with some customers planning to return and others opting not to.
After seeing the reviews on HappyCow, I had expected great things. There was only a vegan starter who was the mushroom puri, so we also had a side dish to start the bindi bhaji. The mushroom puri was good, the bread on which it came was a great texture, but both flavors of the dishes were the same, pretty blandes without spices and very oily. We were told for the net that we could do the vegan secondary dishes Mains, but when they came, they were small secondary dishes. We have the saag aloo and Tarkha Dhall were both a little underwhelming. No spices or flavors except garlic. However, the potato was really well cooked in the saag aloo. Was a little disappointed by the taste of all dishes. I'm not good with spices, so appreciate a mild dish, but there were no spices at all. The staff was friendly. The Vegetable Masala was delicious. The staff were extremely accommodating when we had to change our reservation to a takeout order.
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here where the food and staff were excellent. Lovely modern interior too. The 3 of us shared a vegetable Jalfrezi, Pathia, Rogan Josh and Tarka Daal, with chapatis, rice and poppadoms. Each dish was very flavourful and well spiced, with the Pathia and Tarka Daal particular highlights. In total we spent just over £50. Can't wait to return again to sample more of the menu.
Absolutely first class Indian restaurant. Professional, friendly and meticulous. Just about anything can be vegan. My Madras was excellent, loaded with flavour and a perfect intensity. The Tarka Dhal was pure gold and the Bombay potatoes divine with a perfect balance of sauce and potato. A thoroughly enjoyable meal.
I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and was delighted to see that the vegan options were clearly marked on both the in-house and takeaway menus. The staff were friendly and helpful, even going out of their way to find us vegan wines.
