The restaurant had beautiful ambiance and the food was delicious, but the service was lacking. Although we ordered our meals and drinks, we were not offered any more drinks throughout the evening. Despite the bar being nearby, I would have preferred table service. We ended up being there for three hours with only one drink, which was disappointing considering the restaurant was not very busy. What robv12 doesn't like about Marshall Meadows:
mmm not good , we were here for a Jaguar event, the function room was soulless and sparse, our party was lost in the cavernous space. the staff were brilliant, sadly the same could not be said for the meal, sorry, but awful, dried up microwaved frozen chicken that most of us left, bland veg, not a good advert if you want us to retern View all feedback.
A few years ago, we had stayed at this hotel and were impressed by the food at the restaurant and the exceptional service provided by the maître d. During our recent stay in the area, we decided to revisit the restaurant and were not disappointed. The food was truly outstanding. My husband and son enjoyed the tuna carpaccio and scotch egg starters. For the main course, we had monkfish, pork fillet, and ribeye steaks, all of which were superb. I indulged in the rhubarb cheesecake dessert, while the men had brandy coffees. The wine, priced at £28, was reasonable. Overall, it was a memorable meal, although we missed the previous maître d. The service was good but could use some improvement in attention to detail that is expected of a restaurant of this caliber. A little training would easily solve this issue.
The dining area had a charming decor, although it was a bit chilly. Our group dined on the Christmas lunch menu, which was decent but not particularly impressive. The starter, pate, was the highlight of the meal. The turkey main course was satisfactory, but the accompaniments of fondant potato, 3 Brussels sprouts, and green beans seemed unusual for a Christmas dinner. The payment process was disorganized, with long queues at the reception desk due to several large groups dining at the same time.

Menu choices food outstanding. Waitress really good, but let down badly by her team mates. One was absent, and two were young inexperienced which we totally understand. We couldn’t excuse the forth member of the teams attitude however. We chose Marshall Meadows as the last time we went it was simply glorious, so disappointing this time. It was a birthday surprise as I noted in the booking, but no reference to that at all.
Absolutely Fantastic food, really friendly service, couldn't do enough for you. Definitely be back. Really peaceful surroundings. All round lovely experience.
