The beer was fantastic, the food from the food truck in the parking lot was delicious, and the view was rejuvenating. To top it off, the owner Chris greeted us with a warm smile and was clearly beloved by the regulars.

The traditional feel has been maintained even after recent renovations, with the added outdoor seating in the car park really elevating the experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and there is a strong sense of community. The beer selection is top-notch and the variety of street food vendors that visit (the pizza was delicious tonight) make it a fantastic place to hang out.

I thoroughly enjoyed my... read more During our weekend stay in Stocksfield, we always make a point to visit Dr Syntax. This traditional pub is incredibly warm and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my gin and tonic, which was expertly prepared with plenty of ice, lemon, and fruit - it was absolutely delicious. We also indulged in some pizzas from the food truck outside and brought them into the pub; they were fantastic. We have a great fondness for this establishment.

It i... read more Back dog sitting and just so happy to be walking to the Dr Syntax again. The pub is just so gorgeous, so traditional, friendly and a wonderfully kept beer. It is just such a traditional pub and sitting in the window looking out over the Tyne Valley is just bliss. Definitely in our top ten of pubs and we visit lots. Dogs welcome.
