A fantastic day out at this beautiful castle and grounds. The state rooms were amazing with stunning ornate ceilings and fireplaces. Loved the library/family sitting room. There was so much to do for adults and kids alike. We joined two guided tours and thoroughly enjoyed listening to Alex who was so enthusiastic delivering her talk about how the castle has been used as a setting for a number of high profile movie an... What PES389 doesn't like about Alnwick Castle:
For those used to the quality of National Trust Catering offerings this was the only disappointing aspect of an otherwise very enjoyable day.. The main cooked options appear to be fried food not I'm afraid to our taste. View all feedback.
The lock outside is simply beautiful, it is not a surprise that film scenes are filmed in their environment. In addition, on the day of my visit, they also have various activities such as medieval music, fairs, so in absolutely fascinating. the interiors are also worth a visit, there is actually quite a lot to see.
A very nice castle that does a great job of entertaining you on your visit. They make a big deal of the filming that took place here and it is done very well. The state rooms are very interesting to see. Would like to have found out more about the castles history.
Many great tours. we intend to return our annual passports. great interiors as well as views from the castle and the landscape surrounding the area. it is great to come back to see how the flower display develops. well a walk around the area around the castle itself.
We brought our children and had a great time. Make sure to drive to the castle and garden parking – they also have rv and bus parking places. the besenkurse and drachenquest are free to enter and very much fun for the children. the archery is paid, but was fun and very well run.
Great day outside. the castle is beautiful and the story is very interesting. the only part is the adult entrance fee of £19.50 for a 2, maybe 3 hours day when they press it. the tickets are anual passports, so its handy presupposes that they live near to use it often. the garden is not included in this ticket price, either as its now a separate venue. all his visit worth.
